Bookkeeper
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 DOE

Position Overview

A growing company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting & Treasury Specialist to work closely with the Controller and handle day-to-day accounting, banking, treasury, and Accounts Payable functions.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of accounting responsibilities from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Handle monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Perform credit card reconciliations and investigate missing or unsupported charges
  • Assist with daily banking activity and cash management
  • Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice processing and payments
  • Review AP aging and assist with payment scheduling
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records
  • Research and resolve accounting and reconciliation discrepancies
  • Support positive pay and other banking controls
  • Maintain cash schedules and monitor upcoming cash requirements
  • Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain organized documentation for banking, AP, credit cards, and accounting transactions
  • Assist the Controller with audits, bank requests, and other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Solid bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Strong experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Hands-on Accounts Payable experience
  • Good understanding of general ledger accounting
  • Experience with cash management or treasury is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to independently investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Highly organized and able to manage recurring deadlines
  • Comfortable working with multiple entities and accounts
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be hands-on and able to take ownership of daily accounting responsibilities
